ABSTRACT
In Part II we examined various manifestations of Russian interest and presence in Asia from a historic perspective, focusing deliberately, but not exclusively (because spatial relationships must be visualized in a broader context), on the heartland of Eurasia. We now turn our attention to this intriguing and highly topical heartland concept.
