Clinician: Thanks, William, for discussing so much with me, particularly as there were some things it was clearly very hard to talk about.

William: Yes, well … it’s been helpful, I guess. Clinician: I just wanted to go over the key things as I understood

them. Is that OK? William: Yeah. Clinician: From what you were saying, it’s been a very diffi cult few

months, since your father’s death… William: I’d been struggling before that, when he was ill … you

know, like I said… Clinician: Yes, I was going to come to that. But it seems as if you

felt much worse after his death, less able to cope with the sort of things you’d been managing to do previously. Is that right?
