Although the balance of your teaching experience during your course is likely to be with Key
Stage 3 classes, even within your course, you will almost certainly have responsibility for
teaching some classes with examination groups. If your course of initial teacher education
is qualifying you to teach pupils aged 11-18, this will include some teaching of GCE AS and A2
classes, as well as GCSE classes. What’s different about teaching examination classes – and
what is the same?
