ABSTRACT

Thinking Eventfully The easiest and most accessible way to come to terms with a play is through the events in the plot. Action analysis starts by identifying the play’s major events and then builds on this foundation. Events are not just routine incidents, but those that identify the effective truth of a given situation. Basically, they are incidents that would not or should not normally happen. A break with the status quo, a meaningful departure from the social norm, something special the characters and their normal way of behaving cannot account for.
