ABSTRACT

Pioneer countries in renewable energy utilization have formulated the fundamental principles of the new paradigm, namely decentralized energy production, pluralized participation, and environmental and climate protection. Despite the remarkable expansion of the renewable energy industry in recent years, the traditional electricity sector still remains the dominant economic and technological force in the field of power generation and distribution. The operators of renewable power plants will need to adopt a range of necessary technical measures relating to system stabilization in order to guarantee a stable and secure but also safe power supply. As the electricity from combined renewable power plants can be delivered reliably and predictably, it is also suitable for sale on the European Energy Exchange (EEX). The basic idea of a "supergrid solution" is to produce electricity from renewable energies on a large scale, while exploiting comparative advantages at those locations where the efficiency of power generation is greatest.
