ABSTRACT

This next set of exercises is designed to encourage self-reflection, to increase group members' awareness, especially about positive aspects of self. It seems relatively easy for some people to highlight their perceived flaws, mistakes, and the like, but to also shy away from recognizing their positive resources and actions. There can also be others who inflate their positive attributes and minimize or fail to recognize their behaviors, attitudes, and the like that have a negative impact on others and on their relationships. Participating in the kind of self-reflection produced by these exercises can present opportunities for members to gain a more balanced self-perception.
