ABSTRACT
The suggestions provided in this chapter are intended to guide the use of leaderless and self-help groups so that they can be effective and safe. Since many or all of the members of such groups may not read this book, the suggestions are mainly for consultants to the group, directors or others who form such groups, and for trainers of group leaders. The guidelines for leaderless groups were formulated with the following as fundamentals, and additional guidelines for self-help groups are presented later in the chapter.
