ABSTRACT

Cody has his car packed and is ready to go. He is about to make the two-and-a half hour trip from his parents’ home to a technical college where he has enrolled in a program in car mechanics. Cody has rented a room in an apartment near the college. He will be joining two roommates whom he has not met before. The apartment is located next to a social and educational facility run by the church to which he belongs. Cody is nervous but also excited about his move. He is anxious to be on his own, and he looks forward to the social opportunities that living in a college community can offer.
