ABSTRACT
Plato was born in 427, so he was 28 when Socrates died. Plato was one of Socrates’ pupils and was greatly influenced by him. As socrates did not leave any written work, Plato’s writings constitute the only source from which we can find out about the philosophy of Socrates. Xenophon also wrote about Socrates but mentioned little about his philosophy.
