ABSTRACT

The original Academy master plan called for teams of four teachers-of English, social studies, math, and science-to work with the same group of students, much as was proposed in Hull. Also similar to the original Hull High School design was the idea that Academy teachers share common planning periods and teach thematic units together, trying to integrate knowledge as much as possible. As in Hull, in the Academy’s first year some aspects of the original scheme were implemented successfully, while others were not.
