ABSTRACT
Dorothy Quiggle earned her bachelor’s and masters o f sci ence degrees from MIT and her doctorate from Pennsylvania State College. She spent her academic career at Penn State, except for civilian work during World War II with the Of fice of Scientific Research and Development. Her research was important for the war effort. It dealt with catalysis, highpressure reactions, petroleum refining technology, fractiona tion, composition and knock-rating of gasoline, cracking of oils and gases, oxidation o f hydrocarbons, and selective ab sorbents for gases. j h / mbo
