ABSTRACT

Dorothy Quiggle earned her bachelor’s and masters o f sci­ ence degrees from MIT and her doctorate from Pennsylvania State College. She spent her academic career at Penn State, except for civilian work during World War II with the Of­ fice of Scientific Research and Development. Her research was important for the war effort. It dealt with catalysis, highpressure reactions, petroleum refining technology, fractiona­ tion, composition and knock-rating of gasoline, cracking of oils and gases, oxidation o f hydrocarbons, and selective ab­ sorbents for gases. j h / mbo
