ABSTRACT

In Chapter 2 of this book we will explore in some detail what is meant by the term “social entrepreneurship.” However, it is useful to have a working definition of this term as we examine its origins and importance. Put very simply, social entrepreneurship is the application of the mindset, processes, tools, and techniques of business entrepreneurship to the pursuit of a social and/or environmental mission.
