Marx and Bakunin (Introduction to Marx’s ‘Inaugural Address to the International Working Men’s Association’)
Szabó edited the second volume of the Marx-Engels collection after his definite break with the Social Democratic Pa r ty , as an avowed syndicalist . In the Preface to the volume (1909) he wrote:
If someone is able to develop, then four years have to leave t races in his mental development, knowledge and judgment. My convictions did not remain untouched by time. While in the first volume I thought to fulfil my editorial task best by not emphasizing my budding doubts and objections to the official school of Marxism, now, four years la ter , when I take up the uncompleted t a sk , I feel it my duty to express clearly and decisively that new direction in Marxism which I follow and which I regard as correct and t r u e .
