An adjective is a word which denotes a property, quality or characteristic belonging to or associated with a specific noun or noun phrase. An adjective modifies a noun and agrees with it in number, gender and case. (See Part III, Section 2.6 and Appendix 4.) Most (but not all) adjectives have separate forms for masculine, feminine and neuter genders. Some adjectives are indeclinable and have only one form; for them see Section 3.13.
