ABSTRACT

When Albert Einstein was 4 years of age, his father gave him a compass (Isaacson, 2007). Einstein credited his imagining the theory of relativity with his early curiosity about how an unseen force could control the movements of the hand on the compass. In general, he envisioned that the conceptual developments in his adult years began as “pictures in his head,” similar to the iconic imagery of many 4-year-olds.
