ABSTRACT

The internship year marks the culmination of school psychology training. It has been described as a “capstone experience” (Hebert & Patterson, 2010, p. 55), “a rite of passage” (Hoff, 2006), and “the most important single experience in school psychology training programs” (Alessi, Lascurettes-Alessi, & Leys, 1981, p. 468). Surprisingly, few resources exist to support interns or their supervisors through a year considered so vital to school psychology training. This book is intended to offer increased clarity on the school psychology internship process from start to finish, and to provide interns and supervisors with things they can do to promote a high quality internship experience.
