Development practice in the liberal order: aid in the liberal order

Introduction We saw in the last chapter that aggregate aid provision increased considerably during the liberal order. There were also some notable changes in the sectoral composition of aid, reflecting the changes in donor priorities during this period, particularly the increased concern with good governance (Figure 8.1). There was also a more concerted attempt on the part of development agencies and academics to assess impact of development projects and programmes.
