ABSTRACT

The viability of the sustainable food movement has been questioned in the past, and indeed, this book has surfaced a number of notable challenges to the concept — growing populations, increasing demand, the need for new farming and food distribution methods and the momentum of corporate consolidation. However, as this book has also illustrated, the need to do things differently in the food industry is pressing, and the chance to make a global transition to a more sustainable future presents many new and exciting opportunities for our world.
