ABSTRACT

The state and state-builders exert influence and impact on the economy directly or indirectly as the prime mover in society (Chapter 1). It is therefore justifiable to judge the state and state-builders via economic performance, but not vice versa. This is because the economy cannot produce certain basic conditions such as peace and security, law and order, rights and entitlement on itself.
