Thermoregulation

Hyperpyrexia (also called ‘heatstroke’ and ‘severe hyperthermia’) is a temperature above 40°C. At 41°C convulsions occur and autoregulation fails, death usually following at about 44°C, necessitating urgent (‘first aid’) neuroprotective cooling.
