ABSTRACT
Blood is a transport mechanism, so contents reflect body activity. Recognising abnormal values and knowing what to do about them enables early and appro - priate interventions. This chapter outlines main haematology and biochemistry results. Liver function tests are outlined in Chapter 41 and cardiac markers (e.g. troponin) are included in Chapter 29.
