TEACHER TRAINING AND CHILD-EDUCATION
The belief that the teacher's own education may be a threat to the child is not uncommon even among educationists. The two recent major developments in the education of English teachers – the three-year course of training and the establishment of the degree of B.Ed. – have had a mixed reception from the teaching profession. As a step towards improved professional status they have been welcomed. But to some teachers it is by no means evident that these reforms have been implemented with the best interests of children in mind.
