ABSTRACT
There are many types of loads that act on structures. These loads can be classified into three categories based on the types of statistical data that are available and the characteristics of the load phenomenon:
• Type I. For these loads, data are obtained by load intensity measurements without regard to the frequency of occurrence. In other words, the time dependence of the loads is not explicitly considered. Examples of loads in this category are dead and sustained live loads.
