ABSTRACT

The nature and breadth of public relations work in economically advanced nations such as the United States or in Europe differ markedly from what is labeled public relations in the developing countries of Latin America, Africa, and Asia. For one thing, public relations in economically advanced nations is largely the study and practice of how organizations in the private sector relate to strategic publics in their environments. In contrast, public relations in developing countries equates to government nation building programs or countrywide public communication campaigns.
