ABSTRACT
Newspapers have traditionally been considered the most important medium for current news, but they are by no means the only mass medium in the world of print. Books, magazines, and newsletters are also vital to the whole range of human communication in contemporary society, and they have reached mass audiences. In fact, books were the first form of printed material, and newsletters even preceded newspapers in historical development.
