ABSTRACT

The organisation of football in the area currently known as the Czech Republic has been subject to several structural changes in the last 120 years. Firstly, the territorial area has experienced several national boundary changes during a turbulent 20th century history, which has inevitably impacted on football. As a result the nomenclature of the national football association has at various times been Bohemian, Czechoslovakian, and Czech-Moravian. What is currently referred to in English as the Czech FA is in fact the Czech-Moravian FA in Czech (Českomoravský Fotbalový Svaz).
