ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION The competition policy of the European Community is seen as a very important safeguard to its development. Many of the questions set on this topic are of the problem type, notably on the application of Arts 101 and 102. However, there are possible essay questions on the main principles, as illustrated by some of the questions in this chapter. It is also possible for questions to be set which have a competition element and relate to the free movement of goods, for example, the Robson Pharmaceutical problem in Question 25. In such circumstances, you can either split your answer between the topics or indicate the possible involvement of one but concentrate on the other.
