ABSTRACT
The Victorians embellished almost anything with decoration. Children’s books of the time were not always illustrated in colour, so children enjoyed collecting coloured ‘scraps’ and sticking them in scrap-books. Scraps could be bought in sheets (reproductions of these are available to buy today * ) or cut from periodicals or greetings cards. You could use photocopies of Victorian drawings and paint them with watercolours.
