ABSTRACT
Professional development relates to both the experience, attitudes and capabilities of an individual on the one hand and to the culture of a school or other organisation on the other. A school in which teachers individually and collectively are seeking to develop and extend their expertise, is one that is likely to value professional growth. It is, therefore, possible to think of creating a climate within a school conducive to both individual and school development.
