ABSTRACT
The school council is an ideal platform from which pupils can discuss a whole range of issues, encouraging children to recognise socially acceptable behaviour and to take responsibility from an early age for issues which concern school life. This in turn will help them to develop confidence, self-esteem and respect for others.
