Working effectively with teaching assistants
The action research described in the book has strategic implications for others. The analysis provided in Chapter 6 is key to these. In using indicators of effective practice and review questions to carry out the action research there was no doubt that in a sense the ideas that came from our original research in producing those indicators have been truly tested. What has become evident is the way they can be used flexibly and that they are not seen by those using them as a set of instructions. Instead they can be used as a tool for review and development that takes account, from the beginning, of the individual starting points and needs of any particular setting.
