BREAKING FREE FROM GRAVITY AND TIME There is a particular pitch or range of sound for each individual, which, when they encounter it, enables them to experience their voice suddenly as 'spinning' free. It is unmistakable when you find it. You will experience a very clear, warm, shining tone that, however small, seems to 'ring' and expand far beyond the confines of your skull. It may feel almost disembodied, as though it is floating somewhere above or around you: sound, after all, is not subject to gravity. This special tone may be a bit like the sound you make when you rub the wet rim of a wine glass - like Pythagoras apparently did, while exploring the harmonics of sound in the fifth century BC. This tone seems to have an extraordinarily clear musical resonance. Once you discover it, you can find it again and again through your kinetic (muscular) and auditory (listening) memory.
