SINGING 'ON THE NOTE' Every sound we hear represents a 'frequency' of vibration, or a 'pitch'. A frequency refers to the rate of vibrations per second. The slower the vibration, the lower the frequency; the faster the vibration, the higher the frequency - right up to those frequencies only audible to bats and butterflies.
