ABSTRACT

This Appendix provides the steps, using the SPSS point and click method, to compute most of the basic inferential statistics in Tables 5.1 and 5.2. We also provide the syntax and parts of the output of an example from our SPSS for Introductory Statistics book (Morgan et al., 2011). These steps and examples provide our recommendations for computing the statistic, but in many cases other or additional options could be used. We have circled some key statistics in the outputs to help you identify key parts of the results, but we do not attempt a complete interpretation here. The full output and interpretation, along with detailed instructions and screen shots of the SPSS windows used in the point-and-click method, are provided in Morgan et al.
