ABSTRACT

The previous chapter focused on a particular method of encouraging reflection – the writing of journals. This chapter is a compilation of other ways and means of encouraging reflection to enhance the processes of learning and practice. As in the previous chapter, the ‘means of encouraging reflection’ are mostly what have been identified as the conditions that favour reflection, accentuated or harnessed as a specific activity. The divisions of activities are more convenience and are not mutually exclusive. The first group consists of activities that encourage reflection by developing the use of dialogue.
