ABSTRACT

The previous chapter reviewed theoretical approaches to reflective practice, seeking evidence of consistent approaches to reflective practice or a common meaning. The use of the term ‘reflective practice’ seems to be idiosyncratic within and across professions and the conclusion arrived at a the end of the chapter was that there is no useful common definition, only a number of common characteristics. The implication is that users of the term need to negotiate and agree the meaning of the term for themselves.
