ABSTRACT

A raft of legislation and statutory guidance over the past few years has sought to make our mainstream education system more inclusive and ensure that pupils with a diverse range of ability and need are well catered for. This means that all sta! need to have an awareness of how children learn and develop in di!erent ways, and an understanding of how barriers to achievement can be removed – or at least minimised.
