DIFFICULTIES THAT CHILDREN EXPERIENCE IN THE CLASSROOM

Children may present with various difficulties in the classroom but may not be identified (labelled) as being ‘dyslexic’, ‘dyspraxic’ and so on. The main areas of difficulty are:

• General difficulties: Organisation, time management, adaptability, selfhelp skills, not always able to express ideas in writing, difficulty with orientation in a new environment, difficulty copying from the board (taking down homework), getting tired more easily than peers.
