ABSTRACT
In both film and television, music is one of a number of key elements employed to tell a story - and it is not simply an accompaniment, but an integral aspect of the narrative. It is hard to imagine such films as Spielburg's Jaws or Hitchcock's Psycho without their distinctive and haunting soundtracks.
