The “Woman Question” in Higher Education
The “woman question” is as old as the hills and as shifting as the sands. Are women rational enough to be full-fledged citizens of the state? Should the rights of men be extended to women? Should women be given the vote? Should they be given the same education as men? Should they be admitted to medical schools? Law schools? Business schools? Engineering schools? This chapter will bring the theory of education as encounter to bear on the “woman question” in higher education.
