ABSTRACT
Song and singing are topics of immense philosophical and aesthetic interest which have received comparatively little attention from philosophers. This chapter surveys some of the main areas of philosophical interest related to song, including the definition and ontology of song, meaning in songs, and some questions surrounding vocal performance and the ubiquity of singing.
