A microexample: Twitter

Twitter was the most rapidly growing Internet brand in 2010, with around 50 million tweets a day being posted during the first half of the year. Created in 2006, it is a microblogging platform that permits users to send and receive text-based posts (tweets) of up to 140 characters. Those who use the platform have no definitive group name, but tweeters, twitterers, twits, tweople, twitizens, Twitter users, and other forms are all found.
