ABSTRACT
In this chapter I will be dealing with present-day Iraq as a meta-conflict, and not post-conflict, case. The best way to dissect and articulate the historical and political meanings of this concept is to have a bird’s eye glimpse of Iraq’s 20th-century history. This is what I will be doing in the first section of this chapter.
