ABSTRACT
A new term-or, rather, an old term reincarnated-has again entered the professional discourse of conflict. ‘Evil’ was a word that once came more easily to the lips of a theologian than to those of a political scientist or a military analyst. Now we have to take serious note of ‘the war on evil’, ‘the axis of evil’ and the ‘evil enemy’.
