ABSTRACT
There is an interesting study to be written about the reasons why certain delegations have exercised continuing major influence in the United Nations whereas others, often representing states of greater size, power and goo-political significance, have had less impact on the scene in New York. I exclude from this analysis the Five Permanent Members of the Security Council (China, France, the USSR, the United Kingdom and the United States) whose prominence is sui generis.
