ABSTRACT
The Burcad Badeed, the notorious Somali sea bandits, do not get a very good press anywhere in the world. They are characterized as cutthroat pirates, similar to those who plagued the seas in past centuries, to be feared by civilized people comfortably living thousands of miles from their bases on the Horn of Africa.
