ABSTRACT
The 5th declension has the fewest nouns, but they appear frequently enough, especially rēs (thing) and diēs (day). The endings are similar to the 3rd declension, but watch for the genitive singular (-eī), which is the same as the dative. Remember that it is the genitive singular which is listed in dictionaries after the nominative.
