Philosophy: The Unifying Element of Portfolios

Who are you as a professional? How does your knowledge and experience shape your practice? What role has education played in your life? And why did you choose early care and education as your field and education as your profession? The answers to these questions inform your educational philosophy and, consequently, have tremendous influence on your day-to-day practice. Your philosophy is a personal clarification and articulation of your educational beliefs and values. You define yourself by it; your practice reflects it. Before we can discuss the details of your educational philosophy, though, we want to put philosophy in context.
