The streets – the one main street, really – were not crowded but there
were people strolling, mostly in pairs, some families. A lot of people stopped and
talked, or greeted each other in passing. After a while, we were aware of seeing
the same people walking in opposite directions. It was the time of day when
people come out, walk, talk, see again the people they might have seen earlier,
before lunch or the day before.
