ABSTRACT

In this chapter, many of the types of strategies available for use in supporting best practices in transition are presented. The strategies identifi ed are considered informal, with most being available at a very low cost, while others can be obtained at no cost. In most cases, all transitionplanning strategies can be categorized as person-centered and self-determined. Therefore, this chapter will describe the broader category of person-centered planning and then more specifi - cally address those that have a high emphasis on student-led strategies which focus on the development of self-determination.
